Course Description
In this 5-day workshop with Thomas Langeveld, students will learn the virtuoso oil painting techniques of Antonio Mancini, the nineteenth century master described by John Singer Sargent as “the best living painter.”
Students will be guided through creating a master copy after Mancini, studying paintings which exemplify Mancini's unique bravura and broken-color paint application typical of his signature style.
Students will study the way Mancini expertly employed bold, abstract mark-making to create a stunning sense of realism. Students will receive in-depth individual instruction from Thomas, and will complete this course better able to apply techniques of impressionistic realism towards strengthening their own personal painting practice.Tuition
