Thomas Langeveld (Haarlem, The Netherlands 1984), has been active as an artist for over 15 years. He began his career as a self-taught artist in drawing, painting, and sculpture, and found success in painting portraits on commission. From 2014 to 2017, he studied at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where he was classically trained in figurative drawing and painting. Upon graduating from the academy's degree programme in 2017, he would go on to incorporate classical methods, in his own personal working approach, and continues to study the techniques of old masters. His art has exhibited in solo shows and group exhibitions in the Netherlands, Belgium, United States, and Italy, and has been sold in private collections throughout North America, Europe, and Australia. Thomas has made many travels to far eastern countries, where he draws much inspiration for his personal works. His repertoire varies, but he currently focuses primarily on still life, portraiture, and figural works. In 2018, Thomas was recognized as a top ten finalist in The Representational Art Conference 2018 juried exhibition in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. In 2023, Thomas featured as a guest painter on the television programme Sterren op het Doek, in which he painted former professional football player Arjen Robben. |
