Course Description
Mastering composition is the art of orchestrating the elements within your painting to evoke an emotional response and weave a compelling narrative. It stands as one of the most formidable skills on a painter's journey, as it seamlessly blends technical ability with conceptual depth. Composition is the catalyst that transforms a mere painting into a true work of art.
In this master class with acclaimed French artist Thibault Barrère, students will embark on a transformative journey, bridging the gap between technique and artistic expression. Thibault will navigate his students through the creative landscape, employing demonstrations, examples, engaging lectures, and hands-on exercises to illuminate the storytelling process within painting.
Spanning 30 hours of immersive instruction, students will delve into the intricacies of translating abstract concepts into captivating compositions, utilizing principles such as geometry, design, rhythm, and contrast to evoke profound emotions. Throughout the course, participants will dissect and analyze paintings from the masters of the past, extracting the elements that render a composition truly successful.
