Melisa Calabria (b. 1993) is an Argentinian painter born in Buenos Aires. She started her studies at the National University Institute of Arts (IUNA) and in parallel studied
in several private workshops with painters such as Ricardo Celma, Alejandro Boim, Martín Pallotini, and Nicolás Menza. In 2018, Melisa finished her diploma of fine arts at the National University from San Martin (UNSAM). The following year, she became an apprentice and student at Odd Nerdrum ́s School in Sweden, and went back for the second time from September 2021 to April 2022 to study with him in Norway. Melisa has shown her work in several exhibitions and is part of private collections in Argentina, USA, Norway, Mexico, and Chile. Her work has also been acknowledged in renowned international competitions including Figurativas (Spain), ARC Salon (USA), Mod Portrait (Spain), and Royal Society of Portrait Painters (UK). Currently, she lives and works in Buenos Aires, where she teaches and gives workshops live and online. |
