Born in 1989 in New Hampshire USA, Landon Clay graduated from the University of St. Andrews Scotland, in 2011 with an MA in Social Anthropology.
Realizing his interest in studying people, Landon developed his visual representational skills first by completing the core program at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, and later the core program at the Grand Central Atelier in New York City. Landon now lives and works in his studio in Long Island City, Queens, New York. He paints portraits, figures, and still lifes with his dog, Astor, as company. He has won and placed in national and regional awards, including the Oil Painter Society of America’s Members Only Competition (7th out of 1350+ entrants). In addition, he was an honorable mention in the 2021 Boldbrush Bluereview Competition (99th percentile from over 3,500 entrants). Landon strives for fidelity to nature in his work. He appreciates creating art whose intrinsic value crosses cultures, languages, and continents. |
