Born in Omaha, Nebraska and raised in Querétaro, Mexico, Diego Glazer also has a Swiss nationality which exposed him to a variety of cultures from a young age. He is now an emerging artist who explores the never ending possibilities that oil painting offers to create ambiguous atmospheres, albeit tangible, frequently seeking a nostalgic vibe.
Glazer took part in several workshops in Querétaro including a painting course with Mexican realist painter Ramsés de la Cruz. He later began to study a bachelor’s in visual arts at Instituto Allende, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where he learned an impressionistic method with Guillermo Guerrero, as well as other pictorial techniques. After two years, he moved to Florence, Italy, where he lived for three years. There he completed the drawing and painting program at the Angel Academy of Art. He learned the academic methods of the 19th century French school of painting, which proved to be essential in his journey as a figurative painter and awoke in him a passion to transmit his vision of beauty. Glazer has had shows in Querétaro, San Miguel de Allende, and Mexico City. He also won second place in the Sant Angel Painting Biennial with his painting “Circumstances” He currently explores different genres of figurative painting including figure painting, landscape and still life. |
