Mike Pears

​British artist Mike Pears has studied academic drawing and painting at DARA since its opening in autumn 2018, enabling him to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a professional artist.

Mike's background is in education and research, with a particular interest in how ethnography opens up new ways of 'seeing' in everyday situations. In addition to teaching foundation-level drawing in DARA's Trimester Programme, Mike also works as the head of the studio's programme development.

​In his creative work, Mike aims to bring this ethnographic sensibility into his art, to explore ideas of the sacred in everyday life.
