Overview

Model sketch sessions are opportunities to study the model from life, offered for both for our regular students and artists not affiliated with DARA. As a condition of participation, all artists agree to follow DARA's Studio Policies and Code of Conduct. A studio moderator will set the pose, keep time, and maintain a professional working environment.

All sketch sessions are uninstructed. Easels and drawing boards are provided, and participants are responsible for bringing all other materials. Easel selection starts 30 minutes before the pose, and is first-come, first-served. Some artist materials are prohibited for use inside DARA classrooms to ensure the health and safety of everyone working in our space, and there are no exceptions allowed.

How to Join:

1) First, read DARA's Studio Policies. This lets you know all about which materials are allowed in our studio, cancellation policies, photo & video use, and other important info to know before you book.

2) Next, choose below which session you would like to join. There are different schedules available, as well as different pose types (clothed / nude). Choose the schedule you want and click "Join a session" to proceed to the check out page.

3) Add the date(s) you want to your shopping cart, and complete your payment online.

4) Check your email for a confirmation message about your booking. See you soon at DARA!

Upcoming Session Schedule:

Spring & Early Summer dates (March to June) are currently open for booking.

The cost is €14 per 3-hour session if you book more than 48 hours in advance. Last-minute bookings are €16 per session.
Cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours ahead of the session and get a full refund.

Don't forget to collect your stamp card at the studio! With every session you attend, you earn a stamp. After 10 stamps, your next session is free!

Mondays /

Short Pose Nude | ​Monday Mornings

Schedule: Mondays  |   10:00 to 13:00   |   Doors are open from 9:30.
Pose Type: Nude*
* Participants must be 18 years of age or older to join.
Pose Format: The model holds a variety of poses ranging from 1 minute to 25 minutes maximum.​
Sittings are 25 minutes each, with breaks of 5 minutes. Halfway through the session, there is one long break of 10 minutes.

Clothed Portrait | ​Wednesday Mornings

Schedule: Wednesdays  |   10:00 to 13:00   |   Doors are open from 9:30.
Pose Type: Clothed
Pose Format: 1 pose is sustained for the entire 3 hours.
​Sittings are 25 minutes each, with breaks of 5 minutes. Halfway through the session, there is one long break of 10 minutes.

Long Pose (9+ hours) Nude | ​Friday Mornings

Schedule: Fridays  |   10:00 to 13:00   |   Doors are open from 9:30.
Pose Type: Nude*
* Participants must be 18 years of age or older to join.
Pose Format: ​Sittings are 25 minutes each, with breaks of 5 minutes. Halfway through the session, there is one long break of 10 minutes.
Pose Duration: ​This group features poses which last for multiple sessions at a time. typically 9 to 18 hours. (The schedule is posted on the booking page.)

​It's not required to join every session, or to work from the same easel at every session, but that option is available for artists who would like to have an extended time to work from one single pose.
